How To Apply & Register

Interested in taking a class at MC? Here is what you need to do next.
Credit students need to apply to the College and can follow the steps listed below. Credit courses are for those seeking a degree, whether it is a degree at MC or another school.
Noncredit students follow the WDCE registration process, which does not require an admissions application.
Apply and Register Steps for New Credit Students
REQUIRED
- Complete the MC admissions application.
- Submit an official high school transcript. High school transcripts may be submitted electronically by high schools that use Naviance, or complete the Raptor Central Online Request Form new window . We may request an official sealed copy of emailed transcripts for verification purposes.
General admission to Montgomery College is open to anyone who has either graduated from an accredited high school, satisfactorily completed the General Equivalency Diploma (GED) examination, or is at least 18 years of age and has left secondary school. Standardized test scores (e.g., SAT, ACT) are not required for admission but may be used to determine your course placement.
In cases where the validity of graduation information is in question, Montgomery College will request supporting documentation, including any of the following:
- Documentation from the secondary school to confirm the validity.
- Documentation from the relevant department or agency in the state or country in which the secondary school is located to confirm that the secondary school is recognized as a provider of secondary school education.
- An educational evaluation completed by an accepted credential evaluation agency
OPTIONAL
- Apply for financial aid.
- Apply for Disability Support Services (DSS) if needed. Students must self-identify and are encouraged to contact DSS as soon as possible after admission to the College.
- If you qualify for the Maryland Dream Act, complete the forms.

REQUIRED
- Claim your MyMC account new window (video). Go to MyMC new window and click on "Claim Your Account." You will be prompted to enter your MyMC ID along with your M# (nine characters including the M). You can find your Student ID and M# in the letter that was emailed to the personal email address you listed on your application.
- Once you are logged in to MyMC, set up your Montgomery College email account by clicking on the email icon. This is the way MC will communicate with you.
